ハレノヒ , Vol.10｜三島のきっかけマガジン「ハレノヒ」

2020年4月でハレノヒマガジンはVol.10を迎えます。

2018年1月の創刊以来、わたしたちは三島溶岩から原始的な美しさを学び、三島馬鈴薯の植え付けから食卓に並ぶまでの数ヶ月もの間追跡したりと、取材を通して素晴らしい経験をしました。また別の号では、クラシックなカクテルバーのストーリーから夜のまちを覗いてみたり、夏まつりを作り上げる人たちと出会ったり。しかし、一番印象深かったのは、この旅で出会った素晴らしい人々の優しさと寛大さでした。

これまで制作にご協力いただいた皆さん、ありがとうございました。

そして、記念すべきVol.10では、三島のまちとその近隣にある高等学校の制服を取り上げました。私が通ったカナダの学校は制服がありませんでしたので、とても新鮮な経験でした。皆さんにとって制服といえば、学生時代を思い出したり、懐かしい気持ちになるのでしょうね。

詰襟、セーラー服、歴史を物語るエンブレムや星の紋、蝶の模様が入ったボタン、赤、緑、紺色のネクタイなど、それぞれが高校の個性を表現していることがわかりました。取材を通して出会った学生の皆さんのキラキラひかる笑顔は、学生の皆さんとまちの未来を明るく照らしているようです。

This April 2020 issue marks a proud milestone for our team - the 10th Volume of Harenohi Magazine!

Since our launch in January 2018 we have had so many amazing experiences while exploring our Mishima home, from examining the primordial beauty of Mishima lava, to tracking Mishima Bareisho potatoes from seed to table, we saw the city at night from inside its classic cocktail bars, and got to see the Mishima Summer Festival from a whole perspective just to mention a few. But the most memorable of all has been the kindness and generosity of the incredible people we met along this journey.

To you all, we thank you.

The making of this issue has been yet another eye-opening experience for me, as its subject is one that which I have yet to experience firsthand*. But for the vast majority of our Harenohi friends, it is a subject that will likely bring back fond memories and warm feelings of nostalgia. For Volume 10, we look at the design and diversity of the region's high school uniforms.

With stand-up collars, sailors flap collars, historical emblems, butterfly-emblazoned buttons, noble stars and neckties of green, navy and red, these uniforms are anything but uniform. Most of all, we were most struck by the students' sparkling smiles, the inspiration for the title of Volume 10, "The Stars That Light the Future."

* Jim' s Canadian school experience did not involve wearing a uniform.

: 2019年6月に、創立100周年の式典を終えた三島南高校。三島町立三島商業高校として創立され、現在の単位制普通科に切り替わってからは10年が経ちました。授業では学生の将来の選択肢を増やすため、興味や関心に対応した専門性の高いユニークな科目を展開しています。（県内唯一の舞台芸術の授業や、グローバルに対応するスペイン語・中国語など！）
「三南プライド」と自覚を胸に、単位制の特色と強みを活かします。

Originally established as Mishima Commercial High School, Mishima Minami High School celebrated its 100th anniversary in June 2019. With unique and highly specialized courses tailored to specific interests such as Performing Arts, the only one of its kind in the prefecture, as well as language courses in Chinese and Spanish, this school strives to ever increase the future options of its students.

: 明治34年に女学校として創立された三島北高校が男女共学化したのは、2004年のことです。彼女たちの「自律」の精神は、まるで未来を見据えていたかのよう。彼女たちの過去からの誓いはやがて校訓とし現代へ引き継がれました。現在は海外の事業提携校などとタッグを組み、グローバルな社会課題研究に取り組んでいます。

Founded as a girl's school in 1901, this school became co-ed in 2004. From its foundation in the Meiji Era and as if looking into their future, they championed a spirit of autonomy for their students, a message that would become the school motto for future generations. They are currently researching global social issues with partnering schools overseas.

セーラー服の襟に輝くのは三島北高校のシンボル。

明治34年の創立当時は三嶋高等女学校と呼ばれいていました。

: 日本大学付属の高等学校として、1958年に創立された日大三島高校。現在、約2000名の生徒を抱えています。三島のまちの、豊かな自然環境と恵まれた教育環境の中で、「自主創造」の精神を育んでいます。校訓は、「自由と規律」。約10年に一度見直される制服は、常に学生の門出に寄り添っています。

Currently with 2000 students, Nihon University Mishima Senior High School was established in 1958 as an extension of Nihon University. Blessed with Mishima's rich natural and educational environment, the school strives to foster a spirit of independence with their motto of freedom and discipline. School uniforms are redesigned about every ten years to motivate and move students forward.

: 2021年に120周年を迎える田方農業高校は、静岡県東部唯一の農業高校です。動植物との共存を通していのちの大切さを学び、他者をいたわる心を育んでいます。また、授業内では地域や地元企業とコラボレーションを実施し、「田農牛乳」や「田農コーヒー」の商品の企画・生産、販売も行っています。

As the only agricultural high school in eastern Shizuoka, students here learn the importance of life and relationships through coexistence with plants and animals. Students also work closely with their community and with local businesses to produce and sell milk and coffee products.

2021年に制服のマイナーチェンジを行う予定。

: 創立146年目の韮山高校は、伊豆地域の進学校。生徒の自主性を重んじ、のびのびと学ぶことに重点を置いています。校訓である「忍」という文字は、生徒たちが未来のためのエネルギーをためておくことを意味します。そして、高校の背後に鎮座する龍城山。頼朝が島流しをされた蛭ヶ小島をはじめ、遠くに霊王富士までを望む、歴史の詰まった山の一つです。現テニスコートのある場所で、「気をつけ・前へ倣え」などの鋭音号令が生まれました。

Established in 1874, Nirayama High School places special emphasis on their student's autonomy and studies. Their school motto is 'Nin', a word that references their goal of building the skills that will be necessary for the future. Located immediately behind the school and overlooking the historical Hirugakojima where the Shogun Yoritomo was once banished, is Mt. Ryujo, site of Nirayama Castle ruins. It is also the birthplace of the commands 'Attention' and 'Fall in' that are still used in schools across the country.

: 2010年に創立、大仁高校と修善寺工業高校が統合して新設された伊豆総合高校。設置されている学科は、総合学科と工業科です。卒業後は地域に就職する学生も多く、地域との深いつながりを大切にしています。校訓は「無私の心」。他者を思いやる心を育てます。
校内のところどころに置かれている家具や海鼠壁は、生徒たちの作品です。建築デザイン類型で学ぶのは、住空間を創造する技術と知識。心のこもった製品を生み出しています。

In 2010, Ohito High School and Shuzenji Technical High School merged to form Izu Sogo High School, and students can study from one of two departments, general or industrial. The school motto is, 'A Selfless Heart', a reminder of their connection and contribution to their region. Many graduates find employment in the area and a high value is placed on connecting with their community. Students learn architectural design, and the furniture pieces and the traditional wall construction design known as Namakokabe that can be seen throughout the school have been made with these skills.

: 遠くには霊峰富士、校舎を伊豆の山々が取り囲む自然豊かな環境の中、文武両道を目指すのは伊豆中央高校。創立40周年を迎える学び舎で、生徒たちは日々部活動と勉学に励んでいます。自ら課題を見つけ出し、自らで解決する学習方法を導入しており、「明るく、正しく、たくましい」生徒の育成を行っています。

Surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the Izu Peninsula and with sacred Mt. Fuji in the distance, students here focus on a combination of both academics and athletics. For 40 years, students here have been working day in and day out to further their studies and to excel at their respective club activities. Students are also challenged to find subjects and issues that are of interest to them and work independently to find their own answers and solutions, forever striving to be 'vibrant, fair, and sound'.
